XP HELP needed! Empty XP HELP needed!

Post  Jerry Sat Apr 10, 2010 8:55 am

My operating software is XP Pro. When I start the system, I get a couple of programs that I don't want open. Blackberry and MSN Chat. I don't want to delete the programs but I don't want them to open with start up.

Can anyone tell me how to delete them or make them inactive in start up?

    Thanks!

You should be able to go to start-->run--> and then type in msconfig. Once that opens go to the startup tab at the top. Just uncheck the programs you don't want to run at startup time. Click apply and then ok to close that program. It will ask if you want to restart. You don't have to; you can shut down your computer as you normally would when you would like. The next time your computer starts it will say something about msconfig. When it says that, just check that you don't want msconfig to start the next time you start your computer.
