    Sentiments Empty Sentiments

Post  Mickey Thu Aug 18, 2011 8:00 pm

This was printed in TLN for a girl who died when she was 19, and I like it so I'm going to put it here.

    I found a penny today
    Just laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny,
    This little coin I've found.

She said when an Angel misses you,
    They toss a penny down.
Sometimes just to cheer you up,
To make a smile out of your frown.

    Angels put them there,
That's what my mama told me.
She said Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.

So don't pass by that penny,
    When you're feeling blue.
It may be a penny from Heaven,
That an Angel's tossed to you.

I never heard this before. It actually makes me kind of sad.

When somebody dies, a cloud turns into an angel and flies up to tell God to put another flower on a pillow. A bird gives the message back to the world and sings a silent prayer that makes the rain cry. People disappear, but they never really go away. The spirits up there put the sun to bed, wake up the grass, and spin the Earth in dizzy circles.

Sometimes you can see them dancing in a cloud during the daytime when they're supposed to be sleeping. They paint the rainbows and also the sunsets and make waves splash and tug at the tide. They toss shooting stars and listen to wishes.

And when they sing wind songs, they whisper to us, "Don't miss me too much. The view is nice, and I'm doing just fine."

I don't know who wrote this, but I like it.
